Rick Heltne, Senior Search Consultant
Prior to joining SIMA® International, Rick Heltne enjoyed a long and satisfying career in the field of youth ministry. He began his career as an Area Director for Young Life, spent over 11 years as a Pastor to Students and Families at a large Lutheran church in Minneapolis, and spent 8 years as Vice President of Graduate Education with Youth Leadership, Inc.
He has taught graduate level courses at two seminaries, and supervised a professional internship program for graduate youth ministry students which placed up to 30 students per year in local congregations. Rick holds a BA degree from Augsburg College and a MA from Bethel Theological Seminary.
Through these experiences, Rick has discovered what it takes to ensure the right fit for ministry leadership. He has always been passionate about adolescents and their families, and is committed to increasing the effectiveness of churches and faith based organizations that impact the lives of young people and the communities in which they live. Rick understands that impact and effectiveness depend on great leadership. He harnesses his experience and understanding throughout the executive search process.
Rick and his wife Elaine have been married for twenty-eight years, and they have two amazing young adult sons. Rick is passionate about golf, is an avid and eclectic reader, and loves to spend summer days and nights with his family at their cabin in northern Minnesota.
