Russ Crabtree, Church Consultant
Russell Crabtree is an Ohio native and graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in engineering physics. He worked in research at the Eastman Kodak company for three years in the area of optics and electrostatic control systems. He left industry to pursue graduate studies in seminary and served as a Pastor for 20 years. He is the co-founder and president of Holy Cow! Consulting, an organization partnered with SIMA® International, providing training, strategic planning, customer satisfaction and congregational surveys.
Russ has extensive experience in assisting organizations across the United States with strategic planning, mediation, customer surveys, and training. He has worked with many different kinds of organizations, including churches, hospitals, libraries, and colleges. He has authored or co-authored several books and articles, including “The Elephant in the Board Room: Developing a Pastoral Succession Plan for Your Church.” His fourth book, “The Fly in the Ointment: Why Denominations Aren’t Helping Their Congregations…and How They Could” was released in October, 2008.
The concepts of this book have been incorporated in a work developed to assist church leaders in pastoral succession planning. Using these materials he has assisted some of the largest churches in the United States in developing succession plans.
Russ lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife Shawn and has four adult children: Emily, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Michael.
