Tony Kroening, Managing Director
For the first decade of his search career, Tony Kroening was a Managing Partner and owner of one of the largest Regional Search firms in the Midwest. About four years ago, Tony began to refocus his work in the direction of senior level searches for Churches and Faith Based Non-Profits, where the leadership and culture emanate from a strong faith base.
Tony joined with the team at SIMA® International four years ago and is currently leading their national search practice. During his career, he has trained and mentored over 25 Search Consultants to partner status, while coaching many individuals in their own career transition and development.
Tony holds a BSEd from the University Minnesota and a Master of Divinity Degree from Bethel Theological Seminary. He also holds a graduate level Certificate in Christian Education and Youth Ministry. Prior to entering the challenging business of executive search, he served for 10 years as an Associate Pastor in a mega church in the Minneapolis area.
As an active participant in his community, Tony serves as a team leader for small groups in his local church; as the Chairman of the Board of Youthworks Inc., the largest youth mission organization in the world; and as Vice Chair of TreeHouse, Inc., a ministry to hurting youth and their families, with locations throughout Minnesota.
With his wife, Karna, Tony has a son, Karsten, and a special boy with Down Syndrome, Kai. The Kroening family enjoys spending time together at their cabin in northern Wisconsin where Tony loves tinkering with logs, fishing, and reading.
